## The lead

Five dates are on the board. The first is 27 September 2026, when EmpCo bans unsubstantiated "eco-friendly" claims. EUDR due diligence obligations follow on 30 December 2026, with a second tranche at 30 June 2027\. GOTS 8.0 is fully effective 1 March 2027\. On 31 December 2027 the Materials Matter Standard replaces GRS and RCS, which means the certificates sitting in your supplier file get reissued under a different name and someone has to re-collect them. Digital Product Passport obligations for textiles sit further out, indicatively 2028 to 2029.

What this means at the press: the sustainability line on your website, the one about recycled content, needs a document behind it before September. Not a supplier's word on a call. A document, with a number on it. Start with your three highest-volume stocks, request the substantiation in writing, and see how long each supplier takes to answer. That response time tells you which relationships survive the next eighteen months.

The pitch is retrieval: ask a question, get back what the forum already worked out. For a shop where the person who solved your cure problem posted about it years ago and has since left the trade, that is a real use case. The caution is the standard one for retrieval tools. **Ocean plastic label stock, no numbers attached.** A4 Labels has introduced printable self-adhesive label materials made from recycled ocean plastic. The report carries no recycled-content percentage, no certification and no adhesive spec, which is why it stays tagged CHECK on our desk. That gap is not academic. **Print.sa expands on-demand digital across Saudi Arabia.** MEPrinter reports the expansion but gives no capacity figures, no press models and no site names. Tagged CHECK for that reason. If you sell into the region or source from it, the useful question to put to a supplier is narrow: what is installed, where, and when did it first run production work? Announcement language describes intent. Intent and an installed press that has cleared its first thousand jobs are different things, and only one of them ships your order. **INX heads to PRINTING United with integrated inkjet.** The company will showcase integrated industrial inkjet inks and digital printing solutions at the Expo, per The Cannata Report. No products named, no press partners, no stand number, so read it as a preview rather than a spec sheet. Booth demos run on prepared substrates and prepared files, which is the whole point of a booth demo. If you are going, bring your own worst material, the one that curls or the one the last supplier swore would be fine, and ask to run it. ## Verdict of the week

**Claim:** Sharp adds Visualis3R embellishment software to its production print software portfolio.

**Rating:** ✓ Confirmed.

**Why:** Both sources confirm Visualis3R as print embellishment visualization software added to Sharp's production print portfolio, announced by Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America (SIICA). Sharp's own newsroom release of 20 August 2026 is the primary authority and states the addition directly in its headline, while The Cannata Report reprinted the same press release verbatim on 28 August 2026\. One qualification is worth noting without contradicting the claim: the software is distributed through Color-Logic rather than developed by Sharp.
